Please Pray For Our Troops!

I look back on my little sisters school's Veteran's Day program and it still brings tears to my eyes. A man I grew up with at my church was the speaker, he gave stories of his tours in Iraq and of the men he served with, many of which died while there! He told us of their courage and loyalty to our country! I'm so thankful to all of the men and woman, past and present who serve in our military! Everyday should be a Veteran's Day. Get out your tissues!! I only wish you could hear the choir sing it!

Here are the lyrics to the song they sang that day about our American Flag: (its on my playlist at the bottom of this blog)

There She Stands- Michael W. Smith

When the night
Seems to say
All hope is lost
Gone away
But I know
I'm not alone
By the light
She stands

There she waves
Faithful friend
Shimmering stars
Westward wind
Show the way
Carry me
To the place
She stands

Just when you think it might be over
Just when you think the fight is gone
Someone will risk his life to raise her
There she stands

There she flies
Clear blue skies
Reminds us with red
Of those that died
Washed in white
By the brave
In their strength
She stands

When evil calls itself a martyr
When all your hopes come crashing down
Someone will pull her from the rubble
There she stands

We've seen her flying torn and tattered
We've seen her stand the test of time
And through it all the fools have fallen
There she stands

By the dawn's
Early light
And through the fight
She stands

Quick Question

Has anyone else noticed this...sometimes when you find a blog you want to follow or you know someone who has a blog and you want to follow it, there sometimes isnt a "follow" button on the top of their blog. How do you follow their page then?? one of my friends and I were trying to figure this out last night, thanks!

Christmas 2009

Christmas was wonderful this year, I am truly blessed. Luke and I didnt exchange gifts with each other because we bought a 46" flatscreen T.V. and a laptop in November! That was our Christmas. We spent alot of time with friends, family and each other, which was very nice. I got to shop with Mary, Marlee and John Wednesday before going to the church for our Christmas program, then we had everyone over.
Thursday, Luke and I spent the day together and went to lunch and to see Avatar. Friday we went to my mom and dad's for Christmas morning and since we didnt exchange gifts with them this year, we enjoyed a HUGE breakfast together. Later that afternoon we went to Gran and Grandad's for lunch and saw my mom's side of the family. One of my best friends was there, the reason for that is her dad is dating my aunt! HAHA so we spent part of Christmas Day together! Then later that night we went back to mom and dad's for more food and Taboo(the game)! We had a blast hanging out with my parents, my sister, my aunt jan, uncle jim and cousin John. His girlfriend Carie was there too. We laughed and laughed! SUCH FUN! then saterday we spent the day with our group of friends, guys played paintball and girls shopped! We then went over to Brad and Mary's for a cookout! Sunday we rounded out the holidays with Luke's mom and went to her house and to dinner! We had a great holiday! Not to mention I got paid for a full week even though i worked only 2 days and i got a HUGE bonus! As I said, I'm truly blessed!!!

Here are a few pictures of our week:

Thanksgiving 2009

Luke and I went to see his side of the family this year. It was hard because I never see my dad's family except at Thanksgiving, so I missed them very much this year. We aren't close to Luke's family so it made this holiday very weird...I know it is important for him to keep in touch and see his family, so we went. I'm thankful for my family but it is a struggle with Luke's side and I hope everyone that has a good relationship with their family is thankful because it isn't always that easy. I just pray that everyone else had a warm thanksgiving...I'm greatly looking forward to Christmas! <3
